Curriculum Requirements

The required curriculum is composed of both comprehensive and specific in scope and provides our students in 6 core education programs (cancer biology, neuroscience, infection& immunity, metabolic & genetic disease, data science & personalized medicien, development & regenerative medicine) with an incredible foundation of scientific knowledge. To comply with the vision of our SKKU-SOM BK Four, all graduate student are required to take big data science related common core courses (tagged as such in student guidebook: 6, 6, and 9 credits for MS, Ph.D., MS-Ph.D. combined degrees, respectively. MS-Ph.D. students need to complete additional 3 credits of required courses.

To boost global communication skills, students are required to complete 3, 3, and 6 credits of courses (MS, Ph.D., MS-Ph.D. combined degrees, respectively) run with an international language. Graduate students in each program can take certain credits of research-oriented courses to develop their experimental skills and scientific communication: 3, 9, 12 credits MS, Ph.D., MS-Ph.D. combined degrees, respectively.

Electives

In addition to taking required curriculums, 12, 18, and 21 credits (MS, Ph.D., MS-Ph.D. combined degrees, respectively) must be completed as the degree requirements. Students can complete these elective courses selected upon consideration of their dissertation project though consultation with their thesis advisor at any time prior to graduation.
