Application for Doctors Thesis Preliminary Examination / Main Examination for the second semester of the 2023 academic year

 

Dissertation Preliminary Examination, Main Examination

1) Application period: October 23, 2023 (Mon) ~ October 30, 2023 (Mon) 17:00 with all documents submitted

2) Application location: Medical School Administration Office, 1st floor, Medical Center

Dissertation examination period: Oct. 31, 2023 (Tue) ~ Dec. 15, 2023 (Fri)

Deadline for submission of thesis examination report: ~ Dec. 22, 2023 (Fri)

Submission of the printed version of the thesis (successful candidates): Until January 5, 2024 (Friday) (If the schedule changes, it will be announced later)

*On-line submission of thesis (successful candidates): by December 29, 2023.

 

1. Documents to be submitted for doctoral preliminary examination

- Eligibility: Those who have earned more than 27 doctoral credits, those who have earned more than 39/42 combined credits and have been recommended by their advisors, and those with an average grade of 3.0 or higher.

[ Doctoral preliminary examination examiner (all forms in Appendix No. 7)]

 

1) 5 copies of the doctoral dissertation manuscript - submitted by the student separately to the examiners

2) 1 copy of the doctoral dissertation preliminary examination report [ Doctoral / combined preliminary examination report ].

3) Doctoral Preliminary Research Ethics Compliance Pledge 1 copy [ Doctoral / Integrated Preliminary Examination Committee ].

4) One copy of the list of external examiners (if applicable)

5) Doctoral Preliminary Examination Personal Information Collection and Use Agreement 1 copy (if applicable)

* If 4) is applicable, due to the strengthening of the Personal Information Protection Act, submit the consent form for the collection and use of personal information in 5) Personal Information Collection and Use Agreement as well.

 

2. Documents to be submitted when applying for doctoral examination

- Eligibility: 36 or more doctoral credits, 51 or more combined credits, average grade of 3.0 or higher, pass all thesis qualification tests (exhibition/external examination), pass the preliminary examination, meet the conditions for publication in journals, complete safety training, pay research tuition, etc.

[ Doctoral Main Examination Examiner (all forms in Attachment No. 9)]

 

1) 5 copies of doctoral dissertation manuscript - submitted by the student separately to the examiners

2) 1 copy of doctoral dissertation examiner

3) Pledge of compliance with research ethics for the doctoral examination 1 copy

4) 1 copy of the list of external reviewers (if applicable)

The external reviewers personal information must also be completed by a non-faculty member of the university.

5) One copy of the consent form for the collection and use of personal information for doctoral dissertation (if applicable)

In case of 4), due to the strengthening of the Personal Information Protection Act, the consent form for the collection and use of personal information in 5) Personal Information Collection and Use Agreement must also be submitted.

6) Certificate of qualification for doctoral examination 1 copy

7) Safety training completion certificate 1 copy

Submit one copy of the safety training certificate as well.

8) Confirmation of satisfactory completion of doctoral dissertation - if in progress or scheduled, can be submitted when submitting the result report of the main examination.

 

In case of 2 advisors

In the case of 2 advisors, the principle is to assign 1 additional judge to form the committee, so students with multiple advisors should be careful when organizing the committee.

(Masters thesis: 3 members ⇒ 4 members / Doctoral thesis: 5 members ⇒ 6 members)

 

Thesis examination will be conducted face-to-face this semester, but non-face-to-face examination is allowed if necessary.
