Application for Masters Thesis Preliminary Examination / Main Examination for the second semester of the 2023 academic year


Dissertation Preliminary Examination, Main Examination

1) Application period: October 23, 2023 (Mon) ~ October 30, 2023 (Mon) 17:00 with all documents submitted

2) Application location: College of Medicine Administration Office, 1st floor of the Medical Center

Dissertation examination period: Oct. 31, 2023 (Tue) ~ Dec. 15, 2023 (Fri)

Deadline for submission of thesis examination report: ~ Dec. 22, 2023 (Fri)

Submission of the printed version of the thesis (successful candidates): Until January 5, 2024 (Friday) (If the schedule changes, it will be announced later)

*On-line submission of thesis (successful candidates): by December 29, 2023.

 

1. Documents to be submitted at the time of masters preliminary examination

- Eligibility: Those who have earned 15 or more credits

[Masters preliminary examination examiner (all forms in Attachment No. 3)]

 

1) 3 copies of thesis manuscript - submitted by the student separately to the examiners

2) Masters preliminary examination examiner 1 copy

3) Masters preliminary research ethics compliance pledge 1 copy

4) One copy of the personal information sheet for external reviewers (if applicable)

5) One copy of the Masters Preliminary Examination Personal Information Collection and Use Agreement (if applicable)

* In case of 4), please submit the personal information collection and use agreement in 5) as well due to the strengthening of the Personal Information Protection Act.

 

2. Documents to be submitted when applying for the masters examination

- Eligibility: Acquisition of 24 credits or more (including thesis writing method and research ethics), passing the thesis submission qualification test (exhibition/exhibition), passing the preliminary examination, and completing safety training.

[Masters main examination examiner (all forms in Attachment No. 5)]

 

1) 3 copies of thesis manuscript - submitted by the student separately to the examiners

2) Masters thesis examiner 1 copy

3) One copy of the pledge of compliance with research ethics for the masters examination

4) One copy of the list of external reviewers (if applicable)

*External reviewers must also be non-faculty members of the university.

5) One copy of the Masters Main Examination Personal Information Collection and Use Agreement (if applicable)

*In case of 4), due to the strengthening of the Personal Information Protection Act, the consent form for the collection and use of personal information in 5) must also be submitted.

6) 1 copy of the safety education completion certificate

Submit one copy of the safety training certificate as well.

7) One copy of the confirmation of fulfillment of the masters main examination requirements (submitted when reporting results*)

* Confirmation of fulfillment of masters core requirements applies to students admitted after the first semester of the 2022 academic year in the medical department.

(However, for those admitted before the 2022 academic year, exemption from the masters preliminary examination/degree can be granted under the condition of meeting the new graduation requirements)

 

In case of 2 advisors

In the case of two advisors, the principle is to assign one additional judge to form the committee, so students with multiple advisors should be careful when organizing the committee.

(Masters thesis: 3 people ⇒ 4 people / Doctoral thesis: 5 people ⇒ 6 people)

Thesis defense will be held face-to-face this semester, but non-face-to-face defenses are permitted if necessary.
